Club Code of Conduct
“Respect the history, embrace the future, and enjoy the hobby together.”
1. The Golden Rule: Everyone is Welcome
We are a multi-genre club. Whether someone plays historical wargames, sci-fi, fantasy, or casual board games, they are a valued member of this community.
- ◈ The No Ostracism Policy: Elitism regarding game systems or historical accuracy has no place here. Respect the era, the lore, and the player equally.
- ◈ Inclusivity: We welcome all players regardless of their background, experience level, or choice of hobby.
2. The Spirit of the Game
Gaming is a social and spiritual outlet. We play to challenge ourselves and have fun, not just to win.
- ◈ Sportsmanship: Be a Good Game player. Win with humility and lose with grace.
- ◈ Patience with Newcomers: We were all beginners once. If someone is learning a system, offer guidance rather than criticism.
- ◈ Mindful Gaming: Be aware of the space you take up. Keep the atmosphere positive and the table talk friendly.
3. Respect the Craft
Whether a miniature is professional-tier or just battle-ready plastic, respect the effort put into it.
- ◈ The Hands Off Rule: Never touch another person’s miniatures, books, or dice without explicit permission.
- ◈ Constructive Feedback: Only provide critique if it is requested. Focus on encouragement.
4. Community Promotion
Unlike hands-off clubs, we believe in active growth and supporting our fellow gamers.
- ◈ The Bridge Mindset: If you see someone interested in your system, be a diplomat for it. Invite them to a taster game.
- ◈ Share the Space: Ensure that promotional materials represent the diversity of our games.
5. Logistics and Environment
- ◈ Respect the Venue: Clean up your area, pack away club scenery carefully, and leave the space better than you found it.
- ◈ Hygiene and Health: Please maintain a standard of personal hygiene and stay home if you are feeling unwell.
6. Resolution of Conflict
If a disagreement occurs regarding a rule or a social interaction, please follow these steps:
- ◈ De-escalate: Take a breath and remember it is a game.
- ◈ Mediate: If it cannot be resolved at the table, speak to a club organiser privately.
- ◈ Zero Tolerance: Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
