Rather than leaving it hanging without context, I wanted to write a quick update to share exactly what that button is for, where the support goes, and how it directly fuels the future of The Lucky Unicorn.
What is The Lucky Unicorn?
The Lucky Unicorn is a dedicated social enterprise project aiming to bring an inclusive, welcoming board game cafe and tabletop wargaming space to the local community here in Scotland.
While Onyx Dragon serves as the retail home for our roasted coffee blends, artisan teas, and holistic goods, The Lucky Unicorn is the community-focused vision. We are actively working alongside local support organisations like CVS (Community Voluntary Council) to lay the groundwork for a physical space where people can gather, play, socialize, and build community over great games and drinks.
Why We Are Using Ko-fi
Setting up an independent social enterprise involves a lot of moving parts and upfront costs before a venue even opens its doors. High Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) from major board game distributors often mean putting hundreds of pounds down just to stock shelves, which makes traditional retail supply chains a steep hill to climb at the start.
To keep momentum going without tying up critical capital, every penny contributed through Ko-fi goes directly toward building the framework for The Lucky Unicorn.
